AS#1-A-THON is Friday!!

Saturday, December 5th, 2009

AS#1 is proud to announce the AS#1-A-THON 2009!

Our community-wide fall fundraiser is here! To honor the wonderful diversity and array of talents at our school, we are asking all our students to perform an activity they enjoy, have some fun and help raise money to keep our programs running.

Students:

1. Pick one of several community activities….

Climb-A-Thon
Walk-A-Thon
Belay-A-Thon
Read-A-Thon
Jumping Rope-A-Thon
Math-A-Thon

Or … invent your own “a-thon!” If your activity can be performed at school and easily supervised, you can raise funds doing you love best. Some ideas: CRP training, finger-knitting, playing a musical instrument, cup stacking…

2. Set a goal for yourself, such as reading a certain number of pages, climbing to the top of the climbing wall, or walking ten laps around the green field.

3. Use the forms (that came home a couple weeks ago) to get sponsors and collect donations.
If you would like help finding sponsors, talk to your core teacher.

4. Perform your a-thon activity with the school on Friday, December 11th, and return collected donations to school by Tuesday, December 15th.

We’ll celebrate the success of the AS#1-A-THON with a dance party in January, and a prize will be awarded to the core that raises the most money as a team!

Gifts of any amount are always appreciated and are tax deductible.

If you have questions about Sir Herbert Read, fundraising at AS#1 or the AS#1-A-THON, feel free to call Sabina Boehm at (206) 618-0506.

Thanks in advance for your participation!!
