The Middle School Students vs. Staff Ultimate Frisbee game is scheduled for Thursday, November 5th! The game will be played at Pinehurst Park and all students, families and staff are welcome to watch and cheer your favorite students and staff. The game will start around 1:00 pm.
From now until Thanksgiving break, gather your pennies and loose change and send them to school with your student for Penny Harvest!
Penny Harvest is an annual event at AS#1 and part of a much larger collection effort sponsored by the folks at Common Cents that shows kids they have the ability to make the world a better place by introducing them to the power of philanthropy and service.
Kids collect pennies and small change between now and Thanksgiving break and then bring it all to AS#1 in their special Penny Harvest bags. Representatives from each core are chosen and together those students decide where they should donate the collected money. During the 2007-2008 collection, Penny Harvest students across the country collectively raised an astonishing $799,033.35!

AS#1’s annual Halloween parade and costume assembly will take place on Friday afternoon, October 30th. If you have questions about what kinds of costumes might be appropriate, please contact your child’s teacher or call the office at 206-252-4600.
